Ximedica Expands Manufacturing Facilities

Providence, RI – December 3, 2008 – Ximedica, an ISO certified and FDA registered medical product development firm, announced today that it has added an additional 1500 square foot, Class 7 clean room to its Providence location headquarters. Ximedica provides outsourced research, design, engineering, and contract manufacturing services to many of the top medical device companies in the US.

Within its 80,000 square foot facility, Ximedica now has two Class 7 clean rooms, a white assembly space and additional manufacturing space for kitting and other pilot production line assembly for both sterile and non-sterile medical devices and disposables. "The additional clean room space was installed to meet growing customer demand. More of our clients are taking advantage of our full turn-key solution, from design to supplying a finished product in a clean room environment," said Dan Reifsteck, COO of Ximedica. "We expect this expansion to continue in 2009," said Reifsteck.

The new clean room will be equipped with ultrasonic welders, solvent and adhesive dispensing stations, pressure decay and vacuum decay testers and will use over 25 HEPA filters while employing up to 20 employees. This room is also equipped with a segregated and connected packaging room and gowning area, both Class 7 standards.
