MD&DI-January 2007 issue--Ximedica's Parent Company Awarded for Innovation

January 31, 2007 — Item Group, the parent company of Ximedica (both Providence, RI), was honored at the Rhode Island Innovation Awards in September. The Collaboration Innovation Leader Award recognizes a company from Rhode Island that excels in taking on partnerships to create solutions for unmet needs. Ximedica contract manufactures capital and disposable medical devices and instruments. It also provides design control, compliance document tracking, and offshore sourcing of components and subassemblies. In addition to its Providence headquarters, the company has offices in Hong Kong and elsewhere in China.
