Item Group Appoints Dan Reifsteck CEO of Ximedica


Providence, RI – April 1, 2008 – Item Group has announced the appointment of Dan Reifsteck as CEO of Ximedica, a wholly owned subsidiary which specializes in the design, development and supply of innovative medical devices. As CEO, Reifsteck will be responsible for the continued growth of Ximedica, which provides services to leading medical device companies such as Boston Scientific, Davol and DePuy Mitek.
Reifsteck says, “This is a very exciting time for Ximedica which has invested heavily in expanding the depth and breadth of our engineering, design, regulatory and manufacturing teams. They are now of exceptional caliber and we will continue to build our reputation on this strong foundation,” he said.
With over 10 years in the medical device industry, Reifsteck was recently the Head of Global Services for IT Solutions for Agfa (formally Heartlab). In this role Dan was responsible for establishing strategy, business objectives and key performance indicators for their International Healthcare IT Services Business. Throughout his tenure at Heartlab, Dan held a variety of positions including, VP of Global Cardiology Business, COO, VP of Engineering Operations, and Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs.
