The company was founded in 1985 as Item, originally a product innovation and intellectual property creation firm. Since that time, the company has helped hundreds of clients create and launch an even greater number of successful products, across many industries. Our experience in medical devices and healthcare products began in the early nineties, and first led to the establishment of Ximedica as a division of Item. In 2008, management aligned the resources of the entire organization with an exclusive focus on its medical device and healthcare clients, and the company became Ximedica.

Ximedica is ISO 13485:2003 certified and FDA registered. Our facilities include an 80,000 square foot integrated R&D and manufacturing center in Providence, RI, as well as a satellite office in Hong Kong. Our staff is comprised of highly experienced professionals in all aspects of research, development, and manufacturing, both from within and outside of the medical field.
